             Bug #: 31910
Summary: Place backreferences after the footnote
           Product: MediaWiki extensions
           Version: any
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: Cite
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
    Classification: Unclassified

It would be useful if, in the references list, the backreference links (^, ^
a b, etc) were placed at the end of the footnote, so that the
entries would be aligned to the left, and could be quickly inspected by author
name (if they, as they should, follow the same citation standard). This also
allows easier inspection to ensure the very following of these standards.

Apart from the usage benefits above, such a change would also improve the
aesthetic appearance of the references list. And, at least from the top of my
head, I can't think of any downsides.
