One thing to clarify in the task description is whether the existing API field should be overridden. Currently the description is exposed in the description field of the pageterms API module; should that change if the magic word is used, or should there be a localdescription or something? Ie. do we want all tools to automatically change behavior (including community-maintained/unmaintained ones), or do we assume by default they should use the WD description by default and we switch over the apps etc. manually?

@Tgr The description in the magic word should be used everywhere. The API should pull from the magic word and not the Wikidata description.

This seems to be a bit odd, the pageterms api should keep doing what it is currently doing. The description of the API module is:

Get the Wikidata terms (typically labels, descriptions and aliases) associated with a page via a sitelink. On the entity page itself, the terms are used directly. Caveat: On a repo wiki, this module only works directly on entity pages, not on pages connected to an entity via a sitelink. This may change in the future.

Changing that would be a breaking change.

I believe the magic words are already available using action="">
