After trying to find resources about hbo I got even more confused - I'm not sure if this is even a language.
Assuming the formal definition for hbo is https://iso639-3.sil.org/code/hbo and the links from there, I don't understand if hbo is a language or a blanket term for varieties of Hebrew used in ancient time.
- Script - This may refer to different script of Hebrew (Paleo-Hebrew) as suggested in https://archive.org/details/rosettaproject_hbo_ortho-1 (refereed from http://www.language-archives.org/language/hbo ) but not necessarily (e.g not all ancient Hebrew use this script)
- This may refer to Biblical Hebrew or Mishnaic Hebrew
I tried (unsuccessfully) to find usage examples:
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:ISO_639_name_hbo - there is no actual usage (compare to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:ISO_639_name_he )
However I can barely see some usages for lexams where a word in ancient Hebrew have different meaning then modern Hebrew - however in such cases this there is no option to have the distinction between Biblical Hebrew and Mishnaic Hebrew as they are both hbo?
