But MWAPI sets ppprop=wikibase_item.
This needs to be documented IMHO – I was under the impression that MWAPI sends the query basically unmodified (because it doesn’t know much about specific APIs).
No, if ppprop=page_image_free is specified it is not missing.
When I specify &ppprop=page_image_free, then wikibase_item is missing.
