TASK DESCRIPTION **Problem** Sometimes, it is necessary to know details //about// a statement group. Unfortunately, Wikibase does not provide a way to do this. **Example** AK-74 <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q156229> has two statements with conflict <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P607> as the property. Is this list a complete list or an incomplete list? Wikibase's current data model makes it impossible to reason the completeness or incompleteness (or any other properties for that matter) of a statement group. This makes questions like: "In which wars in the 21st century was the AK-74 <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q156229> //not// used?" impossible to answer. **Proposed Solution** Perhaps when statement groups need properties, an intermediate object (like schema.org's Role <http://blog.schema.org/2014/06/introducing-role.html>) could be added so those properties can be added to the statement group itself. **Work Around** 1. A common work around on Wikidata is to create another property that has the //count// of items. For instance number of seasons <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P2437> and season <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P4908>, the former informing the completeness of the latter. 2. Another common workaround is to create list <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q12139612> items like reasons for deprecation <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q52105174> that could have a expected completeness <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P2429> property TASK DETAIL https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T237472 EMAIL PREFERENCES https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/ To: dbarratt Cc: Aklapper, dbarratt, darthmon_wmde, DannyS712, Nandana, Lahi, Gq86, GoranSMilovanovic, QZanden, LawExplorer, _jensen, rosalieper, Scott_WUaS, Wikidata-bugs, aude, Mbch331
