TASK DESCRIPTION The Wikidata Termbox server-side rendering service <https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/WMDE/Wikidata/SSR_Service> has four releases: a `production` release in each of the `eqiad` and `codfw` clusters, and `staging` and `test` releases in the `staging` cluster. The `staging` release is pretty similar to the `production` releases, but `test` is fairly different in how it talks to the network. (I don’t really understand the differences enough to describe them in detail, tbh. But it affects both the way the `test` Termbox talks //to// Test Wikidata as well as the way it listens to connections //from// Wikidata, IIUC.) This means that the `test` release can be affected by problems that don’t affect the `production` release, and vice versa – making the `test` release less effective as a test environment for a new image version before deploying it to `production`. For example, in T355685 <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T355685> the `production` release was broken, but it was not noticed before deployment because `test` happened to not be affected. (There’s also a lot of useful information about the setup in the comments below that task.) We should see if we can make the `test` release less special / unique, and bring it closer to the `production` and `staging` releases.
