For the record, my expectation is that this task is not high priority for the Wikidata team – as I wrote in T355685#9484621 <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T355685#9484621>, a broken termbox is not the end of the world, and we also don’t deploy new Termbox versions often enough for this to be important. I don’t know if #serviceops <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/tag/serviceops/> are interested in improving the release in this way; if not, perhaps this task will just stay in the backlog for a while.
