CHANGES TO TASK DESCRIPTION
Users should automatically become wikidata items and be instances of wikimedia user (or something like this). And allow users to modify whatever properties they want.[[ https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase | wikibase ]] items in their own `U` namespace.
For instance [[ https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q23034479 | Q23034479 ]] has a a property [[ https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P553 | P553 ]] which has a value "Wikimedia project" and a scalar value of `User:Katherine (WMF)`.
It would be helpful (I think) if ppublicly exposed propertieses (that are already on the User page) could be added to a item of `User:Katherine (WMF)`. (I'm not sure what the permissions would be like, perhaps only the user can edit their own item? if any)
Doing this would allow global, existing publicly exposed data, to be stored (and queried) on on the user themselves and allow items to be associated with user accounts. The user accounts could expose other data (like pages edited, number of edits, etc.)
A lot of users use the [[ https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Template:User_info | User_Info ]] template and include data items (like IRC, image, full name, etc.). This data is already included on their User profile page and //ought// to be available through Wikidata.[[ https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase | wikibase ]].
To do this we will need to enable [[ https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase | wikibase ]] on [[ https://meta.wikimedia.org | Meta ]] and create a `U` namespace that can be distinguished from the existing main `Q` namespace on Wikidata. The Id of the user should be the same as the CentralAuth id.
For instance, my central auth id is `50584396` (as [[ https://www.wikidata.org/w/api.php?action="" | reported ]] by the API), so my wikibase ID on [[ https://meta.wikimedia.org | Meta ]] would be `U50584396`
