The -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold flag may have been set too low.
I'd try to see if this one helps, because BG work pattern would be allocating tons of stuff when query is processed, and then releasing it after it's done. But the query can be processed for a whole minute, so I imagine some of this stuff would get into old gen.
This looks suspicious... and indicates that other applications are competing for resources.
The only other app there is updater, which spends most of it's time waiting for either Blazegraph or Wikidata. Weird.
