Looking at a few days of logs, after the recent configuration changes:
- overall, things look better, GC overhead is under control, < 5%
- we still have long GC pauses (between 25 and 35 seconds), somewhat correlated with high allocation rate, but fairly rare (~ 4 / day)
- allocation rate peaks at 11GB/s, I think it is reasonable to expect GC to have issue at this level of allocation
I think the current configuration is good enough for our use case, we can close this task and start looking into the allocation by blazegraph if we want to improve more.
