Hi Joao - An AMAZING network!
How could I forget! Friends, Joao joined us recently in the WikiPasifika online workshop on basic wiki editing skills. He teaches English in Portugal. If I remember correctly, Joao found out about the WikiPasifika workshop from Elderbob in Texas who posted a notification about the WIkiPasifika workshop on the Webheads list. Consider the network connections, working backwards -- New Zealand ==> Brazil ==> Canada ==> Portugal ==> Canada ==> Texas ==> Nine Pacific states ==> Portugal. Hopefully we will connect Mozambique and Angola into this network chart .... Joao - to answer your question - the Newbie tutorials are in-fact the tutorials we used in the online workshop: http://www.wikieducator.org/Help:Contents So for example, if you go to the Help page in the French WikiEducator: http://fr.wikieducator.org/Aide:Aide You will see that they are busy with translating these tutorials into French. So the idea is to start translating the English tutorials into Portuguese so that they link from this page: http://pt.wikieducator.org/Ajuda:Conte%C3%BAdos mmmm - I'm thinking here - this could be a great project for Portuguese learners studying English - For example, what about a homework assignment where a group of two or three learners to translate one of the tutorials. Their teachers could then check the translations and improve on the language. Joao - thanks very much for the offer. Let me see if I can set up linkages with colleagues in Mozambique, Angola, Brazil etc to spawn an international community for the Portuguese WikiEducator. Chat to you soon.
