Hi
Everyone,

Anil Prasad of India
has raised the issue of a central Curriculum Index, as a means of enhancing
navigation in WikiEducator. This is an important contribution, and it adds
another voice to our upcoming dialogue (and consensus) regarding how to best
'logically structure' WikiEducatar pages, and smartly allocate and leverage our
resources

In my conversation
with Wayne, he has mentioned that our community will be tackling the issue of
how to 'logically structure' WikiEducator, so that each individual member is
not
reinventing the wheel, and that WE as community come up with some conventions
for precisely this purpose. For example:

I understand that
there may be an effort to develop additional community/regional portals to aid
navigation;

 We need to discuss
how we want pages to nest (i.e., wikieducator.org/newproject/subpages or simply
wikieducator.org/newproject AND wikieducator.org/subpage1, 2, and 3, without
regard to where the project and subpages might sit (i.e.,
wikieducator.org/CountryName/newproject...etc., and how our Community
suggestions for navigation can be added to the Newbie
instructions/tutorials

We need to come up
with some kind of a Progress Dashboard - similar to the L4C chart of progress -
{{L4C_frontpage_targets}} - so that we can actually track our progress in
achieving our goal of the courses required (and their degree of completion in
%)
for a free education curriculum.

We need to make sure
that our efforts are strategically aligned - so that we make use of our best
talents, energies and resources - so that there is less duplication, and an
inevitable march to our goal achievement. I think it is important that we
consider how we can be on the 'same page' without stiflling innovation or
creativity or productive efforts....

As 2007 comes to a
close, I am looking forward to this important dialogue and consensus as to how
our Community will move forward on this...

Best wishes for a
safe and happy holiday season!

-
Randy
