I don't know if this is a good place to post this , but I would like to
start this thread for the new wiki user like myself ,and also really to be a
learner myself ,to document my process and my frustration in a Chinese
context , so that maybe the future user can get something from it to make
the learning a little bit easier

1 I began to log in WE in Chinese spring festival from Leigh here , and fall
in love with wiki in no time ,maybe I am a wiki guy <smile>

2 I began to watch people , and copy most first I copy a lot of stuff here
in WE ,is that good ?

3 I began to tell wiki to other people in www.haokanbu.com ( a Chinese
web2.0 website ) i used it with my students all the time last year , and
write abt 3 story to tell people abt my own learning experience here , and
this year Leigh told me there are abt 2 more people from China has joined
WEworkshop , and they also contacted me and told me they are enjoying the
learning here too ,so far 3 people from China show up in 1.3 billion
popuolation contry we call other people "diving" can anyone share me why so
many people love diving instead of get out of the water to breathe the fresh
air ,or I am being too pushy ? need to be more patient when we talk people
into wiki way of learning and creating your own content ?

4 from last week I created my own wiki site
http://teachandlearnonline.cn/wiki coz WE doesnot support Chinese charchter,
and it is okay for me to read English but it is very hard for my students
and co-worker to read English so I will share this wiki and use it in my
teaching and workshops too plus for some of my personal projects ( I invite
you to regist on my wiki ) Leigh and James has been join and I really enjoy
the conversation I had with them like here
<http://teachandlearnonline.cn/wiki/User_talk:Leolaoshi>he teach me how to
use talk function and I tell him somethng about CHinese new year cutstom
there ( the sad thing I use IE I canot see his present for me )

5 editing on my own wiki is very different experence from editing on WE I
began to feel the reponsiblity of building a more sustanible Wiki commutiy
and it is so important to have that

6 The best way to learn is maybe to teach , I will be hosting a wiki
worskhop on April 9th , will be introducing people abt Learning4 content
workshop ,and also how to use to do something contribution working with
people from your major like Psychology student can use wiki to do something
like Literature review jobs ,instead of asking people to become more geeky
type I am trying to relate what I am doing with people their own field
,something they are interested in using wiki to build , righ tnow in my wiki
, we are building 3 section ,one is on Chinese cutlure , antoher is on
Psychology methods for example how to cure Depression

We are working on very small project and 3-4 people work together , like
this one we work on* Coganitive Behavouri Therapy* you can read here
<http://teachandlearnonline.cn/wiki/User:Leolaoshi>( I will move it to a
seprate page when I have time )

antoher project we are working on is Chinese Pedagogy for foriener who are
interested in learning Chinese as a second language you can go to here to
read if you want to learn Chinese ( http://teachandlearnonline.cn/wiki/Tcfl )

more later

My questions is :

1 do you think it is a good idea to work with people like one one one on
small projects is a good idea , give people gudeline and also let people
creat something they want to do .be flexible but have a good structure to do
things

2 I don't want to introduce people the web2.0 things here ,coz people are
not intersted in that , taht is why I change my approach to using wiki to do
other things
is this a good way ? or do I need to be more techie type ?

Leo
