Great rant Phil... wouldn't call it a rant for you say many valid things. I particularly like your section on getting out of the way or as you wrote it community empowerment "vs" charity. I believe the hardest part of what we do within OER is in creating and holding the space that others can fill, help themselves, one could say. we need to be coaches on the sidelines, maintaining the field and helping people to become stronger...
