Hi Everyone,

Our WikiEducator Open Community Council meeting has adjourned. On behalf of
the WikiEducator family, I would like to extend my personal thanks to every
Council member for their participation and commitment to open democratic
process. WE are very fortunate to have members willing to donate their
time in service of WikiEducator. BIG thank you!

We had full attendance -- which is amazing considering an international
group of 25 people.

*Action items*

The following action items have arisen from the meeting:

   1. Establish a Community Workgroup to discuss and propose amendments to
the Interim Open Community Governance Policy. The Chair shall issue an
invitation to every Council member to join the Workgroup. This is a
community Workgroup which is open to all members of the WikiEducator
community to join. Kim Tucker has offered to convene this group, and
announcements will be made on our relevant WikiEducator lists in the near
future. We're very privileged to have the calibre of Kim's experience in
free software and libre knowledge communities to guide this process.
Co-conveners are welcome to offer their support in helping Kim with this
   task.
   2. Convene a special meeting of Council to consider the approval of the
proposed policy for WikiEducator Style guidelines
   <http://wikieducator.org/Workgroup:style_guidelines>before 23 November
2009. (An ambitious Council agenda did not allow enough time for this item
to be tabled during the current sitting.)
   3. Consult with members of Council to fix the date for the next general
meeting taking into account requests from Council members to schedule the
meeting sooner rather than later. The next meeting must convene, at the
latest, before 6 months of the adjournment of this meeting.
   4. Remaining agenda items not dealt with during this sitting must be
fixed on the agenda as unfinished business for the next meeting of Council.

Cheers
Wayne
