Hi Elizabeth,

 You can mix list types as in your example below but not using the rich text
editor. You need to type the syntax for the lists directly as wikitext.

ie

# item 1
# item 2
#* first bullet
#** first sub bullet
#** second sub bullet
#* second bullet
# item 3
