The OER Foundation and WikiEducator are developing a free online course: *Open Content Licensing for Educators. *Building on the success of the Learning4Content initiative, this course will hopefully become the world's largest initiative in providing free training on Creative Commons licensing in Education. (See: http://wikieducator.org/Open_Content_Licensing/Home) I wanted to incorporate Justin Cone's prize winning video, "Building on the past" in the online tutorial, however it was licensed using the non-commercial restriction. I sent Justin an email asking him to re-license the video under a free cultural works approved license. As a dedicated Creative Commoner -- Justin has released the video under CC-BY for use by WikiEducator and others in widening access to his creative works. Well done Justin! Moreover - -Justin took the time to record a reflection for the WikiEducator community on why he decided to change the license and he shares his creative thoughts and motivations for making the original video.
