Agreed -- the gratis and libre differences permeate the OA field as well.
In addition Peter Subers'
distinction<http://www.earlham.edu/~peters/fos/overview.htm> between
green OA and gold OA (delivery vehicles) is also a useful classification.

The permissions associated with derivative works in a research context also
gives rise to interesting debates and tensions which of course complicates
the libre components of OA.
