Hi Patricia, Great to see international community collaboration in moving this idea forward.
I'm wondering whether it wouldn't be better to host the poll on WikiEducator. For two reasons: - We remain true to our community values associated with the free cultural works definition and commitment to using free software. (The trouble with a Facebook poll is that the data will default to all rights reserved and will not be openly licensed and Facebook is non-free software.) - Hosting the poll on WikiEducator will ensure that we can keep an accurate history of this important process. We have a poll widget on WikiEducator (see for example the current poll on design decisions for the OERu). Thanks for your initiative in setting up a poll -- but at the same time, lets consider walking the talk in terms of our open values for community initiatives ;-) Cheers Wayne On Thu, May 3, 2012 at 10:01 AM, Patricia Schlicht <[email protected]>wrote: > Dear All,**** > > ** ** > > I loved the exchanges and the community participation in trying to find a > suitable name for the new WE activities of establishing a “‘WikiEducator > Community College”. **** > > ** ** > > I thought perhaps we could make a bit easier to vote on the many > suggestions made, and so I have created a poll, using a FB application. ** > ** > > ** ** > > I hope I have captured all suggested ideas for the naming convention. *Please > cast your vote by clicking on the link below*.
