For two reasons: * We remain true to our community values associated with the free cultural works definition and commitment to using free software. (The trouble with a Facebook poll is that the data will default to all rights reserved and will not be openly licensed and Facebook is non-free software.) * Hosting the poll on WikiEducator will ensure that we can keep an accurate history of this important process. We have a poll widget on WikiEducator (see for example the current poll on design decisions for the OERu).
