*Open questions to consider a peer reviewed journal on openness in education. *
The 2012 Paris OER Declaration specifies a number of open education principles. The declaration incorporates a clear statement to "encourage research on OER". In particular, the declaration suggests that we should: *"Foster research on the development, use, evaluation and re-contextualisation of OER as well as on the opportunities and challenges they present, and their impact on the quality and cost-efficiency of teaching and learning in order to strengthen the evidence base for public investment in OER."* A few open questions: - Are you aware of any projects or initiatives to establish a peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on openness in education as an area of academic interest encompassing OERs, Open Education Practices, Open Policy, Open Learning, Open Source Software in education, Open Research, Open Access, Open Data, Open Licensing, Open Governance etc. If so -- are these projects open to collaboration? - What do you think about the idea of a peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on openness in education? Of course this would be openly licensed and would hopefully find suitable processes for open peer review (rather than closed blind peer review)? - Are there any individuals or organisations on this list who may be interested in collaborating or contributing to the design and establishment of such a journal?
