Wayne and our community - Interesting and provocative question - especially for the person who may not thought of this, as a part of their research / project.
I recall, when I did my MA research - about WikiEducator, and publishing entirely on WE - http://wikieducator.org/OMD/MPII/MP_Paper_II, thinking about these kinds of issues and my internal reactions, was just as challenging, if not more, than the content that I was researching. The experience was well worth it, as I became more attuned to what was happening inside of me, more analytical and thoughtful, and far more connected to experiencing the power of 'open'. Moreover, it put me in good stead for continuing work with the open community, as I was able to be immersed in both sides - people who had already made the shift (especially since it was aligned to their values); people and org's yet to make the shift; and the people and org's who were muddling through the middle. If this wasn't positive enough, by opening myself to greater openness, I found incredible access to highly-regarded educators who were willing to help, and spur my thought processes forward - when I needed it - not when they had office hours posted, as well as access to insights about who was doing complementary work half a world away. Another positive aspect was, because of this access and responsiveness, I was able to complete my work in likely 1/2 the time that it would otherwise have taken me... Just thought I'd share something to chew on - I did, and it helped me to become a better researcher, educator and person. Can't go wrong with that, eh? - Randy On Tue, Dec 10, 2013 at 8:43 PM, Wayne Mackintosh < [email protected]> wrote: > Hi Daneille, > > Open quesion: > > Will the outputs of your research be published under and open content > license? > > As an open education community, many members of the list would be > reluctant to participate in a research project if the outputs were to be > published under an all rights reserved license. > > Wayne > > > On Wed, Dec 11, 2013 at 2:25 PM, Danielle Paradis <[email protected] > > wrote: > >> My name is Danielle Paradis and I am a graduate student at Royal Roads >> University pursuing a Master of Arts in Learning and technology.
