There are lots and lots of cadastre numbers on some of those! The address is
also not always obvious (no street signs or house numbers) to the person
taking photo's.

This looks like handwork: for the larger, important items, perhaps the
common name of the object combined with a code for the municipality name can
be in the identifier like XX Church of St. Steven, XX City Hall, XX Guild
hall, or something like that; and for the less obvious monuments, the
cadastre number or the coordinates. If there are  smaller, private
residences, maybe just the description?
