What we did was: First each jurymember had 1 month time to watch the 12500 pictures (I did this on commons, other with some tools i believe), all 5 jurymembers had to make a selection of 100 pictures. The 5 jurymembers together got like 350 unique pictures. We came together one evening and watched those 350 pictures, we voted which pictures we wanted to select and which we didn't want (if 3 jurymembers said OK it was to the next round). This way we came to something like 40 pictures. We looked closer to these 40 and this way selected our winners. The way i watched 12.500 pictures: My idea was that the pictures had to jump out. So I scrolled to the commons cat (took 3-4 hours) and copied every picture which jumped out (some jumped out but had a very bad quality). This selection I brought down to 70 in 3 or 4 steps: selecting the better pictures every time until I went under the 100. Hi all,Mainly directed to the organizers of last years contest but also to the other countrys. What is the best way to get the jury to go through all the images? Did you put them in one room and force them to stay there until they had looked att all 12.5k images or do you have some other way of doing it?
