I think the main question is whether these new tools are a significant step forward for improving our knowledgebase, and worth this investment compared with related work that might achieve similar results. If yes, then together we should make it happen. The questions of which individuals and groups host, maintain, and accept associated legal risk are secondary: many organizations share our mission, some (like IA) quite eager to push the boundaries of the law in ways that improve global access to information.
