Hi there,

Appreciate your interest in the project.

While I sympathize with your concerns about GenAI and "big tech" driving
the global market, I don't think what we do is helping them.
Our main focus is helping the Commons (our, i.e. me and all people involved
with this from the Open Knowledge movement, many of them Wikimedians).
This project is all about looking for ways to harness GenAI to the
advantage of our work, so that it helps us grow specifically the Wikidata
and Wikibase communities and work. Part of it means allowing volunteers and
institutions we work with, spend less time on mundane / technical tasks,
and more of their time on tasks that demand more human oversight and
attention.
You may of course argue to what extent that is needed and for what specific
tasks, but it's quite different from framing it as "helping the beast".

Happy to share more on any of the three 'buckets' of work described in
the Projects
page <https://ai-bridges.org/the-project/>, our Guiding principles
<https://ai-bridges.org/projects/guiding-principles/>, and the
opportunities to get involved <https://ai-bridges.org/get-involved/>.
Could you share what specifically you found lacking or missing? That would
help us share details more clearly.

All best wishes,
Shani.
