Hi Wikimedians EFA is a founding member of the Fair Deal coalition, which is an international coalition of organisations opposed to the inclusion of extreme copyright enforcement mechanisms in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement, which is currently under negotiation.
The coalition is seeking additional members, and Wikimedia has been identified as one organisation that would be welcome and likely to share the objectives of the coalition. Other members of the coalition are in contact with other Wikimedia chapters and at a global level, however I'd like to explore whether the Australian chapter is interested in joining the coalition in its own right (not sure what the governance/decision-making arrangements are for something like this). The coalition's website is at: http://www.ourfairdeal.org Please let me know if this is something that Wikimedia Australia is interesting in joining. many thanks jon *Jon Lawrence* Executive Officer Electronic Frontiers Australia, Inc.
