I just wanted to inform you that today i am doing an interview with the Swiss
Italian TV RSI Rete1 for the programme il Bello della Vita by Enrica Alberti
[1].
I'll be talking about the project "Mobile Access to Knowledge: Culture and
Safety in Africa. Documenting and assessing the impact of cultural events and
public art on urban safety" coordinated by SUPSI university [2].
For this project we are uploading documentation related to the African cities
of Douala, Luanda and Johannesburg and their public art on Wikimedia Commons
and we are creating articles related on Wikipedia. We are using the Wikimedia
projects only to host secondary sources/images and to make them available to
the largest public. the documentation produced as first source will of course
not be published on Wikipedia.

I'll be also mentioning Wikimedia CH and maybe some of the GLAMs collaborations
established in Switzerland.
please let me know if you have any recommendation.
regards,
iolanda/iopensa

[3] To get an idea of what we are doing
on Wikimedia Commons the images of doual'art related to Douala and its public
art have reached the number of 2'000.
You can browse all the images in the category doual'art and you can find them
in specific categories such as artists, public art, the SUD Salon Urbain de
Douala, and the neighborhoods of Douala. This documentation is impressive not
only for its potential use on Wikipedia, but because it offers all sorts of
scholars the opportunity to have a better look at Douala with content which can
be used, reused and updated. This result was achieved thanks to the
collaboration of so many people. Thanks to Marilyn Douala Bell, Didier Schaub,
Paulin Tchuenbou, Sandrine Dole, Kamiel Verschuren, Lucas Grandin, Christian
Hanoussek, Cercle Kapsiki, ArtBakery, Roberto Paci Dalò, Chiara Somajni, Goddy
Leye, Marta Pucciarelli, Ginette Daleu, Lard Buurman, to all the artists
involved and to doual'art, WikiAfrica, Share Your Knowledge and Mobile A2K.
