Requesting a geonotice is a good plan.[1] We can also tweet about it from @wikimediauk if that would help - there's a lot of mediawiki techie people on twitter. Dropping a note to wikitech-l [2] would also be a good plan. But I'd recommend expanding the info on the wiki page some more before advertising it too widely...
