Best Regards - Wikimedia South Africa ---- Hello everyone, We’re excited to invite you to participate in Wikisource Loves Proofreading Campaign 2025, a global proofreading initiative running from 20 December 2025 – 20 February 2026. What’s it about? The campaign is designed to boost engagement on Wikisource, by encouraging proofreading and validation of digitised texts.Wikisource Loves Proofreading Campaign 2025 We want to increase visibility, support newcomers, and bring small or under-represented language-communities into the fold. This is the first global campaign of its kind for Wikisource, modelled on successful “Wiki Loves …” campaigns. How you can get involved Join as a participant: proofread texts in your language, help validate, contribute to contests. Join as an ambassador: help train others, spread the word, organise locally. Use the learning resources and tutorials being prepared for newcomers. If you belong to a smaller Wikisource language community, this is a chance to host a contest and gain global visibility. Timeline & next steps Pre-campaign: Training ambassadors, sharing resources. During campaign: Localised contests in pilot languages and updates. Post-campaign: Publishing results & winners, Feedback, Follow-up and ongoing engagement even beyond February. Why it matters By participating you help preserve cultural and heritage texts, support free knowledge, and strengthen under-represented language communities. It’s also an opportunity to meet and collaborate with other Wikimedians globally.
