I did ask a closely related question several years ago and I did get a solution to that problem. :-) The difference is that last time I was having a problem of "transclusion" because the mechanism for substituting text from a template wasn't working. That problem was being caused by the "$wgUseCapitalLinks" setting. This time the "transclusion" is working fine, but there is no article for the template because it wasn't imported during the process for importing the dump.
