Once TMH is deployed, practically speaking .. upload to youtube -> import to commons .. will probably be the easiest path for a while. Especially given the tight integration youtube has with every phone, and any capture device with web.
But yes the feature should be developed, and it is more difficult then it sounds when you want to carefully consider things like making the source file available.
