Well, the parent thread had a point. Let's discuss what's possible rather than just downing the current work. How can we make widgets a viable extension? Is it possible? If not, can we salvage any of the work? Maybe the widgets could be split into maintainable extensions? For instance, there isn't a single usable extension for embedding videos in MediaWiki. Is the implementation in widgets secure? Could we break this into an actually maintained extension?
