I'd suggest a different scheme.
Create a set of pages (at meta) explaining the pros, set a deadline for
change and use a notice/global message delivering asking wikis to opt
out if they disagree.

A (the?) DBA has been closely following and helping the team doing the
latest changes to the script, making sure it executes faster and with
non-impacting load. He is ok with the current implementation and happy
to let it run (one wiki at a time).
