FWIW, I tried changing my user agent string to such ancient values as
"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 4.0; Win64; x64; rv:10.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/10.0" and "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/40.0", neither of which reproduced the problem being described.
