In addition to that, they may be technically competent and that is the
reason they do no switch. For example, I know Bank of America did not switch
to XP and stayed with W2K because that is what their programs were certified
to use. Do you want your banking info (and money) gone because of some new
bug in the O/S?

It's called inertia, and protecting one's investment. B of A is comfortable with Win2K because they spent a lot of money testing it with their apps, and they're not ready to make the same expenditure for XP. Certainly they've had enough time by now to test XP, if they were inclined to do so. For the average home office, this is not a big concern since the apps are pretty standard and have been tested out thoroughly by the OS beta testers. For those still clinging to Win98, I'd say your days are numbered since support and security updates for it are ceasing.
