Re: Age old (at least 20 years) question; to turn off or not?

Figured I might as well throw my $0.02 in.  Currently my monitor and 
hard drives power off after 1 hour of non-use, but the system isn't 
set to go into standby.  This is the setup for both of our desktop 
machines.  The laptop is the same except it goes into standby if 
plugged in and into hibernation if on battery.
