Here is what the QuickBooks Premier2005 help file says about that:
*QuickBooks can only convert data from other Intuit products, *such as Quicken. It cannot convert data from non-Intuit accounting products.
*If you've been using another financial software product, and you'd like to
*import information from that product into QuickBooks, you can do so if the
*product allows you to export to a spreadsheet or text file. You can import *lists that correspond to QuickBooks lists, budgets, and individual transactions.
I think it would be a major hassle. You could ask more about it here: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/QuickBooks/
Intuit also has their own groups now also. http://www.quickbooksgroup.com http://www.quickbooksgroup.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]@.ee8e2e6 http://www.quickbooksgroup.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]@.ee8e2e8

Subject: Major Brand Third Party Software Question
I have, for years, ran Peachtree Accounting and now I am running the 2005 version in Windows XP Pro.They are already trying to sell me the 2006 version for a modest $399.99.
I would like to change to Quickbooks. I prefer not to ask the Quickbooks people if Quickbooks will accurately import data from Peachtree Accounting. They may assure me that it does and then in reality I get an import, but a butcher job.
If anyone has had a real life experience in moving from Peachtree Accounting (2004 or 2005) to the latest version of Quickbooks, please post your experience here. I would like to know if you got a quality import and not a butcher job (if an import is even possible.)
I am finding out that Peachtree is overkill for a small business with no payroll.
Thanks in advance,
Chuck
