Not entirely correct. Two of my thumb drives have a little switch on them which prevents erasure, and all of them have a secure data utility, which prevents reading or writing without a password. I belive one of them also had a PGP utility as well. In the UK SD is a little more expensive than CF.
Sandisk has free security software that purchasers can download for free & if they want backup software that can be purchased for add'l. FWIW, I try to refrain from making statements that are absolutes whenever possible.
My experience shows that SD is priced about the same as CF & at Mwave.com I am apparently correct as the Sandisk SDs are exactly the same price as the CF prices are.
Personally, I can't remember one time where I would've wanted or wished my thumb drive had a CF or a SD card in it to use in a camera, PDA or laptop. Heck, even tho my camera & PDA both take CF I don't even interchange those cards as I want my data on one & pics on the other & the 2 shall not meet until they get to my laptop or desktop computer.
