baffling innit :) ?

It doesnt appear to be using the PATH variable....

If you open a CMD prompt, and THEN type 'winrar' I get:-

'winrar' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

However, it works just fine directly from the Run box. The same holds true for winzip, AcroRd32.

Only programs in the PATH variable can be run from the full CMD prompt, like notepad.

One further thing, if I manually navigate to a directory containing a zip file via CMD, and then just type the name of the zipfile then Winzip opens, despite it not being able to be called correctly.

E.g.

CMD
cd c:\tmp
tempfiles.zip

The plot thickens.
