How odd... I never have any problem 'searching for files' -- since files on my PC are where *I* put them and with filenames *I* choose..... I suppose if folks are in the habit of dumping all of their files, regardless of content, into one or two directories it could get a bit tricky to figure out what's what in a 27-screen 'explorer' list...:o) if that kind of thing is common, no wonder folk have a hard time finding things. I have scores of directories [all tidily organized, of course] and things are grouped together in appropriate directories. If I am looking for the msched macros, those are in three directories [one for general macros, one for the macros I use to do usenet moderation, and one for the macros I use for doing audio processing]. If I'm looking for stuff pertinent to the farm operations, there's a "farm" directory; all of the lecture notes for my classes and lectures are organized into a 'lectures' directory, etc. It never takes me more than a moment to find anything. I guess it is like having a 'gmail' account: it is a "solution" for something of a self- inflicted problem...
