This has the same effect as clicking the Folders button (right beside the Search button). Yes, that is the look I want, but it does not stay that way. I would like it to open that way everytime.

Largo, MD 20774-2199 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tuesday, June 14, 2005 >>> I just got a new computer with XP Pro. I have worked a bunch in XP Home. There is one silly, annoying problem I am having with Windows Explorer. When I open it, I want the classic view of the directory tree on the left and the files and folder on the left. All of my XP Home machines are set up this way. I have tried everything I can think of with this new machine, but it continues to open with the right side of the pane extending clear across the window. In other words, instead of listing Folders on the left pane, with "Name" "Location" "Size" "Date Created", etc., on the right, it is as if the left pane does not exist. The extreme left side of the Explorer window starts with "Name" and continues with "Location" "Size" "Date Created", etc. If I hit the "Folders" button, then I get the look I want, but I have not been able to make that the default. I have gone into Tools/Folder Options/View, locked the tool bars, unlocked the tool bars, etc. I still cannot get it to open the way I want. Any suggestions appreciated.
