Wayne, that works (for ME) using Outlook Express to send with, but it does NOT work using Outlook 2000. I have tried it many, many times in the past, and AFAIK, there just isn't any way I can get a long URL to wrap properly and remain "clickable" using OL2000.
I just repeated the tests using a hawg of a URL, and I can send it from one computer through an email account to a totally different email account, receiving on a different computer, and if I send from OE, it wraps properly (whether with OR without the "<>") no matter whether I am using OE or OL2000 to receive the message. If I SEND the message from OL2000, neither with or without the "<>" wraps properly when received with either mail program. Near as I can tell, this is some anomaly associated with sending from Outlook 2000, but not Outlook Express. I don't use any other mail programs so haven't checked anything else. I would very much like being able to post long, clickable URLs, and if anyone can enlighten me as to how to do it using OL2000 I would be grateful. If not, I will likely continue posting the original, unclickable URL, followed by the TinyURL version so those who don't want to copy/paste can still click and view... - Bill Hatcher [EMAIL PROTECTED] - -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Wayne Johnson Sent: Tuesday, June 21, 2005 15:32 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [WINHOME] Software: Adobe PDF Patch Plugs Data Leak Threat At 02:12 PM 6/21/2005, MARC SIMS typed: >Glad it worked for you. I don' t know how long I've been preaching this & it's even easier than using tiny all screwed up url that no one can read where it is taking you. Just in case you missed it it's < [the left arrow above the comma] paste the URL then the > [right arrow above the period] but to use them one must use the shift key. -- ---------------------------------------- The WIN-HOME list is hosted on a Windows 2000(TM) machine running L-Soft international's LISTSERV(R) software.
