It never occurred to me to make mention about tools to extract the 
pins.  You don't need to buy anything fancy.  I use an old pin 
extracted from the plastic.  I used a golf tee to expand the pin to 
the right size.  All you do then is push it right down, over the pin 
you want to remove, making sure that you compress the tabs, and pull 
the cable out, complete with pin.

If the pin you are trying to remove, is expanded you may have to 
waggle the extractor a bit.
