No I am not assuming that news about Windows Longhorn should come from my posts
on this item nor
did I say or state that specifically. I've acknowledge the fact that in my last
post people can go to
whatever source that they freely wish to use at betanews.com and other two
sources that you've mentioned.
The context of my post was just a heads up in case if anyone may have missed
the item or weren't aware of it.
On the net and as with other modes of communication we are so innundated with
so much information that it is
very easy to miss and overlook a tidbit of usefull information that may be
usefull to some and not to others.
I'll also acknowledge the fact that not every tidbit on the net is useful to
many people. I really depends on how
you define what useful is. Stop me if I am beginning to sound like Tom Brokov
here. (joke). :)
Everyone has their own interpretation of what's news and to me Longorn is news
becuase I find Longhorn to be a very innovative beta product that Microsoft has
been working on for a long time such as 3D and tranparent Windows, Indigo,
(WinFS won't appear in Longhorn as everyone knows but in probably some form of
a service pack for Windows XP) and Areo.
I'll compare Longhorn's future 2006 or 2007 release to that of Windows 95
when it was first released on August 25, 1995 as it was a very new totaly
revamped OS product that no one has seen before since Windows 3.0. This may not
be news to them and that's fine with me I'll respect that.
IMHO am a fan of Windows XP I used to be a fan of Win 9x, NT and 2000 but no
more and when Longhorn gets released and all of the bugs worked out I'll
probably take the risk(s) and pony up for the product. I am the type who likes
to see what's new in the computer soft and hard business world and to get a
taste of a brave new world of what's yet to come. ;)

So you're saying we should assume list members only get their windows news from
your posts to this list?
If someone is interested in knowing this kind of stuff, don't you think they'd
hang out in one of the many places where this stuff is always the main topic of
discussion - like at betanews.com, bink.nu, or neowin.net? Those are the places
you want to be to keep up beta information - not here.
If they didn't know about these sites - they could ask for the best places for
beta information.
