Thanks for all the suggestions. I had tried all. My MB has 8 direct
USB ports, none worked.
Email from HP tech has over three pages of what is needed to fix the
problem. Well tomorrow is another day. <bg>

Immediately after inserting the USB cable, Windows says it is not recognized.
