I think this is one of those personal preference things. I much prefer the current message at the TOP with any necessary history below it. Very often if someone posts the other way and hasn't trimmed his quote judiciously, instead of clicking the scroll button to get past the quoted material, I just click the delete button instead. Unless it is a subject I am REALLY interested in, I usually won't spend my time hunting for what the current poster is trying to tell me.
As is taught in many business courses regarding written communications, tell me up front and very succinctly WTH you are talking about. My attention span is short, my tolerance level low, my time is limited, and my delete key is FAST. If you want me to read your deathless prose, lay it on me up front! JMO, of course, but that is the one I usually pay the most attention to, warranted or not. ;) - Bill Hatcher [EMAIL PROTECTED] - -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Wayne Johnson Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2005 13:16 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [WINHOME] About quoting in general... Apparently MSFT feels that top posting is the best even tho it messes up quoting of the original & placement of a signature. Such questions have been asked of MSFT many times & I don't think anyone has gotten an answer that satisfies them. Because of this & not being able to do selective quoting when replying are the reasons why I can't bring myself to use anything MSFT for email even tho I've tried many times I just can't get use to their way of doing things in this situation. -- ---------------------------------------- To Change your email Address for this list, send the following message: CHANGE WIN-HOME your_old_address your_new_address to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Note carefully that both old and new addresses are required.
