Exactly right. I'm stunned to learn just how much of a hatchet job MS did with XP/Home. All the machinery in the operating system is still there, but for reasons that I cannot fathom, they have made it impossible [not "essentially impossible" but "actually impossible"] to take advantage of it. What a poor decision, IMO, on MS's part: if anything, they should've made it *easier* to tighten down the system, instead of impossible... Sigh. Thanks for all the detective work on this... /Bernie\ -- Bernie Cosell Fantasy Farm Fibers mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Pearisburg, VA --> Too many people, too few sheep <-- -- ---------------------------------------- WIN-HOME Archives: http://PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM/archives/WIN-HOME.html Contact the List Owner about anything: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html
