I got through, without using a premium number, to a knowledgeable, and
helpful symantec tech support person
(yes there is/was at least 1 in the UK - though he's probably got the push
for being helpful to customers)
After I explained my problem -
( Ghost 2003 had set the system to boot to a virtual partition that existed
within my normal boot partition, but it had not set the virtual partition up
in a suitable manner for it to boot )
He said he would do some research and call me back in about 15 minutes.
He lied -
It was only 5 minutes before he called, and after talking me through the
required reset on my system,
he also contradicted most of the previous 2 years answers from the normal
tech support email system,
and told me how to adjust ghost 9 on my system so it wouldn't cripple the OS

( I ain't got any choice but to support the symantec stuff installed on the
user's PC's when they get them -
but I could, and did tell them all that I wouldn't support them if they
installed Ghost 9.)

And - don't forget NSW 2005 is not supported on dualboot/multi-OS systems
And installing Recovery Console means your system becomes a multiple
boot system
