Who writes the EULA for the OEM versions? MS or the OEM? If it's the latter, then -- in the case of a mom & pop store -- they could allow it to be transferred if the original machine dies. I know the big boys aren't likely to modify their EULAs in that manor.


Naturally Microsoft writes the EULA for all versions.

As explained in a previous post, "if the original machine dies" bring in a Intel Celeron or P4 (I stock those motherboards) computer I built (or Dell or anyone) and if the CPU is good, I will go to bat for you and save your OEM Windows. Been there (on the phone with Microsoft) done that and have given away those Microsoft and Intel T shirts I got.
